BIOGRAPHY

Abelardo, an architect by profession, born and educated in Mexico, came in 1987 to New Jersey, USA where he established his residence with his wife and two daughters. Since then, he had been working as an Architectural Designer and Project Manager on a number of projects across the state and internationally. His design abilities and technical knowledge in construction made him a valuable asset for his employers and also gave him the opportunity to showcase his artistic talents. One of these opportunities came with the design of the Charles H. Bullock School in Montclair, New Jersey where he designed from elevations, floor plans, light fixtures to a beautiful Terrazzo floor where he used the Fibonacci ratio as the basis of his design.

But it wasn’t until 2014 that Abelardo, an avid photographer for most of his life, faced with an empty nest and motivated by the advent of digitalization that he began experimenting with his photography and drawings creating a unique style and technique that until now has been difficult to categorize .

Now, recently retired, Abelardo has the opportunity to dedicate most of his time to art that goes from photography, traditional mediums painting to digital, AI and three dimensional work that includes Papel Maché sculpture and concrete work. Not afraid of new trends and technology, Abelardo is always experimenting with his art and creating his own techniques that in many cases, incorporate one or more mediums.

In every case, Abelardo maintains his characteristic style that is influenced by his Mexican culture. His art, reflects the love and admiration that he feels for México, for its people, culture, traditions and the admiration that he has for his favorite Mexican artists like Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo, Francisco Zúñiga and David Alfaro Siqueiros among others.

With a number of local and international exhibits, his work has been acclaimed for its quality and beauty.

Abelardo and his wife are now both retired and living between USA and Spain where he continues to expand his art portfolio.
